[spoiler title=’Click here to read the transcript. ‘ style=’default’ collapse_link=’true’]- Hey welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee, your place for average Joe coffee reviews. Today’s coffee is where Northern California and France come together.
– So today we are reviewing Peet’s Coffee dark roast, well actually their French roast, which is a dark roast.
– Right.
– It says–
– We.
– That it is coffee forward.
– I don’t know what that means.
– Wood smoke, and burnt caramel. So, yeah, so there you go.
– Speaking of forward, I used to have a YouTube channel called History Forward, check it out.
– Yeah, you can look that up. So a french roast, for those of you who don’t know, it’s a darker roast, hotter roast, so you get more of kind of like a more burnt kind of flavor.
– Right.
– Let’s talk about price.
– We got it on sale it was $7.99, but originally it was over ten dollars for the twelve ounce bag. And that takes it up to twelve something.
– Yeah so what we would call probably a more premium kind of coffee, not super cheap.
– Yeah, wait what is it, like $14.50 a pound. That’s more of a premium for sure.
– I tend to really love Peet’s, I know that you’re less of a Peetnik but I really do like Peet’s overall. So this one though, let’s taste.
– That sip that I just took made me think of the smell of tobacco.
– Well that is on the coffee wheel flavor thing. But I have been drinking this coffee all week, and I think it is smoky, and kind of burnt tasting, I like it, but it’s not my favorite from Peet’s for sure, and certainly for the price it’s kinda like, eh, you know.
– Yeah, $14.50 a pound, you can get some really good coffee.
– Yeah, I would probably go like, three doughnuts.
– Yeah, I think probably that’s the highest. If it were cheaper probably, maybe we would go a little bit more.
– Maybe, yeah, but overall it’s just kinda like, eh.
– You can get a different Peet’s that we like better anyways
– Right, yeah.
– For the same price.
– Like Major Dickason’s, or the Italian roast is really good.
– But so yeah I think that’s about where we are on that. Any other notes, we said it’s smoky–
– Yeah smoky and kind of burnt. But I mean I do enjoy the cup I will say that.
– Well its Fiestaware.
– How could you not enjoy it?
– Anyway, thanks for joining us on this review of another Peet’s coffee, you can check out the other ones on our website or on this YouTube channel, or on Facebook, wherever you’re watching this. And until next time,
– Keep gridin’.
