[spoiler title=’Click here to read the transcript. ‘ style=’default’ collapse_link=’true’]- Hey, welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee, your place for average-Joe coffee reviews. Today’s coffee is Barnie’s, but not that really annoying purple dinosaur.
– We’re reviewing Barnie’s Café Blend, which is a medium roast. It says that it’s soothingly smooth and balanced. 100% Arabica coffee.
– Right, let’s show the artwork there. It’s kind of like a steam punk-esque.
– Yeah, it’s nice.
– It’s neat looking.
– Yeah, I like it. It’s probably my favorite part of the bag.
– Got a coffee-powered umbrella-ed thing.
– Airship.
– Yeah, isn’t it powered by coffee?
– Yeah, it’s a 10 ounce bag though.
– Yeah, that’s true. 10 ounces and we paid $7 for that and it was typically $9 at Publix. Don’t know how much it costs at the stores near you.
– Yeah, so, fun fact. It started, Barnie’s Coffee that is, started in Winter Park, Florida, which is just a short drive away.
– That’s right. We had a real-estate closing there last year and went to a nice Italian restaurant.
– Ooh, yeah. Do you remember the name of it?
– Luciano’s. Pavarati’s. Luciano’s.
– Was it? I don’t know. It was good.
– Leotardo’s.
-I don’t think so, but anyway, the coffee. That’s the main thing.
– Le Café.
– Have you ever eaten- or have you ever gone to a Barnie’s?
– There was a Barnie’s in the mall where I grew up, which was here.
– You grew up in a mall?
– No, not quite. I was there a lot, but there was a Barnie’s there long before I drank coffee and I always remembered walking by it, thinking, “That smells really good in there.” It always did, outside of it.
– Yeah.
– And it was. This would’ve been like the late 80’s, early 90’s.
– Yeah, I don’t remember ever having one near me when I was growing up. So, this coffee, though. To me, it is what the bag says, which is smooth, well-balanced. It’s kind of just a good cup of coffee. There nothing that I taste like, “Ooh, that’s got really- certain kind of flavor.” It’s just kind of like, okay.
– Yeah, it’s a little nutty.
– Yeah, it’s a little nutty.
– Pretty smooth.
– Yeah, really smooth.
– Probably one you could serve to a lot of people unless they’re snobby or something like that.
– And they’d all like it and they’d say, “Oh, this is good coffee.” You know?
– Good point. You could always serve whatever you want, whether people like it or not.
– Well, yeah, that’s true.
– But they would like it, exactly. Overall, I’d say this is probably a three.
– Yeah, I’d say a three. I’d wanna get it on sale if we bought it again.
– Even probably more of a sale than what we got this one on. Since it’s only a 10 ounce bag.
– But it’s good still.
– Yeah, have you ever had Barnie’s coffee before? Is there a Barnie’s in the mall where you grew up? In which you grew up in the mall? In which? I don’t know how to use that. I’m just kidding.
