Joe Coffee Wake Up Joe Coffee Review
- Hey welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee, your place for average joe coffee reviews. Today’s coffee says the same thing that they said in San Francisco in the early nineties. Wake up!

– So today we are reviewing Joe Coffees which is Paramount Coffee Company medium roast. It’s called, Wake Up Joe.

– Right, speaking of Joe, that was one of the character’s names on Full House.

– Right.

– Joe. If you didn’t get the reference.

– She just got that.

– In the opening.

– That connection.

– He tried it out on me this morning, I had no idea what he’s talking about. So Joe Coffee, we find it at Home Goods but I think other people found it at like TJ Maxx and such.

– And Marshall’s.

– I’ve never seen it in the store. I mean at another store. But like grocery stores, yeah.

– Maybe they just only do Home Goods and what not.

– $4.99 for the bag.

– Cheap.

– Cheap.

– Not super cheap but cheap.

– Yeah pretty darn cheap.

– Yeah.

– And we really like their tall dark and handsome blend.

– You can check out that review that we did, I don’t know, six months ago or something.

– Yeah. So but the question is, is this any good?

– Yeah.

– So medium roast, not our favorite you know, roast level.

– Yeah, I’ll have to stay after these hundred or so reviews that we’ve done so far, I’m starting to enjoy darker coffees better but there’s always a place for any roast, really.

– Yeah.

– It just depends on how it’s done.

– Yeah, but in general I mean I’ve always tended more towards the darker side of things but all the reviews really have solidified that is just what I like but occasionally a medium or even a light roast will surprise me. So this coffee to me has a little bit of a citrusy thing going on. I don’t know if you get that at all.

– Yeah, little bit. It’s as if someone took a citrus peel and squeezed it into the bag they were roasting.

– I don’t think that’s.

– They don’t roast in a bag though.

– No and I don’t think I would say that much citrus flavor but.

– It’s in the whole thing, not into my cup.

– Right.

– They squeezed it into a vat.

– Anyway.

– How big is a vat, is there like a limit?

– I don’t know.

– Do you know?

– No.

– Are you a measurer person?

– I am not.

– What is a measurer person called? Anyway, I don’t know. Somebody who deals in measurements.

– Engineers.

– Yes.

– But I also.

– This is a load barring table.

– I’m trying to do a coffee review here.

– Yeah, go ahead.

– Say a load barring table. Okay anyway, I do feel like it’s like a well balanced cup, it’s not bitter.

– Easy to drink.

– Easy, yeah, very easy to drink and enjoyable. I like it.

– Yeah, now I don’t know if there’s a difference with when we drink it in the morning or drink it in the afternoon. Right now it’s the afternoon that we’re drinking it and I’m enjoying it and I enjoy it in the morning. Sometimes in the morning though.

– Was there a point?

– Well it’s wake up.

– Oh right.

– It’s like a get up blend.

– Your palette is sharper in the morning. I remember that reading somewhere, reading that somewhere.

– There was an article about my palette? Not mine in particular but in the morning normally you know, five o’clock in the morning, I’m just tired and I’m glad to be drinking something but you can tell when it’s awful and you’re having to drink it.

– True, yeah. Although sometimes there have been some coffees where it’s like in the morning I’m like, eh I don’t really like it but the afternoon cup I’m like, that is really good.

– That’s true.

– Yeah.

– It depends. So we’ve got a pretty cheap coffee that’s I would say readily available. I’d say you know, Marshall’s and TJ Maxx and Home Goods, they’re around different places.

– Yeah.

– And it’s good.

– Yeah.

– Easy to drink, smooth.

– Yeah.

– Smooth and something.

– What kind of donut rating?

– If we take into account the price, which we typically do, because that plays a role in everybody’s pocketbook, and it’s a normal price, five dollars for the bag.

– Yeah, it’s actually cheaper than a lot of the coffees we buy.

– Yeah. Now the last Joe, the tall dark and handsome, we did.

– Four.

– We did like that better and then we gave that four donuts so I would have to say we’d have to do three and a half.

– Yeah.

– On this one.

– Yeah.

– To be in line with what we’re thinking on those. But if you find yourself in a Home Goods and all that or wherever, check it out.

– And you’re curious, like, is this any good? I’m curious to know about their whole line.

– Yeah.

– ‘Cause they’ve got several different blends.

– And you can check out, they’ve gotta, they’ve got expiration dates on there but I would just make sure that it’s within the proper date.

– Yeah, we still don’t know that, like.

– Who knows.

– Yeah, I mean, ’cause we’ve seen some coffee companies that like it’s obvious that they have a very short window, like Pete’s. Short window.

– Three months.

– Yeah, it’s like really like because from the time you buy it, to you know, to like when, they say when they roasted it, right?

– Right.

– And then when it expires but then there is coffee that we’ve picked up and it’s like the expiration date is still two years out so.

– Yeah.

– Who knows what’s actually going on.

– What I would like to do is get a bag of Pete’s, like two years later ago and then try it and see what it tastes like.

– Yeah, that would be interesting. I wonder if it really does make that much of a difference.

– The problem is Pete’s is so good that no bags last that long.

– How could you even let it sit there for longer than a week? I can’t.

– Well if you’ve gone by a Home Goods or a Marshall’s or a TJ Maxx or the like and you found Joe Coffee, especially this Wake Up Joe, let us know in the comments what you though about it, if you agree or disagree with us, either way it’s fine. We can’t all like the same coffees.

– And tell us if you found it elsewhere besides the stores we mentioned, like is it in your local grocer?

– Right.

– Grocery.

– Grocery.

– Does your local grocer carry it?

– Grocer.

– Yeah, does anybody use the word grocer anymore?

– I know, right. But anyway, let us know what you though and also let us know about other Joe coffees or coffees by Paramount Coffee Company that you’ve enjoyed and we’d be happy to see if we can find them and do a review on them too. Right, well thanks for joining us and until next time.

– Keep grinding.
