– So today, we’re reviewing Folger’s medium classic roast. So this is, actually, the coffee we used to drink all the time. This was our brand, this was the roast, even. Yeah, medium roast, it was our favorite.

– Get some Folger’s.

– We would make fun of my parents for drinking Maxwell House, because Folger’s was the best.

– Rich, pure taste.

– That’s what we thought.

– That’s right, America’s favorite coffee probably. I don’t know, I mean, look at it, it’s got a Mountain Grown.

– Mountain Grown.

– Right.

– I don’t know that that means.

– Yeah, there’s not much on the packaging, like it says, wake up to rich, pure taste. It doesn’t give any kinda like, it should taste like this, just medium roast, so.

– Yeah.

– So, you wanna taste it?

– Yes, I do. And also, I’ve got the price we paid for that 11 and a half, I was trying to say and a half, ounce canister was what, five dollars and 10 cents. Five dollars and 10 cents for 11 ounces.

– That’s super cheap.

– Well, it’s inexpensive, but not super cheap.

– Yeah, five 10 for.

– All those Barissimo ones were less expensive.

– So, yeah, that’s actually not super cheap. My math skills are bad today.

– Back to the old times of Folger’s. Should they fold up?

– This looks really creamy, you probably put too much cream in it for me, but I have tasted this already.

– It smells like it used to.

-So, there’s a story behind this coffee, too. ♪ There’s a story, behind this coffee. ♪ ♪ It comes in a red canister. ♪

– That’s not the story I was gonna tell, so we had been drinking Peet’s coffee for like, Christmas Day, had some, you know, really good, tasty coffee and the day after Christmas, we woke up, ’cause we’re trying to get into this routine of waking up early every morning, and I was expected Peet’s coffee, and I took a big drink of the coffee, and it was horrible, and I was so, so mad

– You probably can’t tell, but I’m wearing heavy makeup on this side of my face because when she tasted that coffee You’ll notice her mug is different.

– I felt betrayed, ’cause it was horrible, but it was Folger’s. He tries to do that, he tries to not tell me when he’s changed the coffee, because, you know, we don’t want it to be like, oh well, this is Peet’s, so this is gonna be good, or this is Folger’s, so it’s gonna be bad.

– An unbiased review.

– Right, it’s like a blind taste test, kind of, all the time for me so,, so I never know what’s comin’. Okay, why don’t we like it?

– It’s papery.

– Uh-huh, oh I gotta taste it again. Even though there’s a lot of cream in here, it’s still, like, it doesn’t mask.

-Cardboard.

– Cardboard, that was, that morning, that was what it tasted like, was just like this cardboard, papery, not pleasant, yeah. I can’t believe that this is what we used to drink, but it’s possible that maybe they’ve changed it. Or, I mean, but that is the thing, as you start to drink other coffees, you do, definitely, start to have different preferences, I think. Uh, just the smell of this.

– Here’s the thing, right, like, it’s not that much less money so, I think if people start to realize what other coffees are out there that are better, why would you buy Folger’s?

– Yeah, I mean, because, really I mean, like you were saying, I wish I could do the math in my head, what that is, but that’s, you know, for just like a couple dollars more, you get Caribou or Peet’s and that’s like, I mean, over the course of time, that’s not that much more money, so I think you’re better off, just this whole process has shown me, like, you’re really better off, as far as just enjoyment goes, ’cause it’s not that much more money, to just buy the good stuff.

– Right, what is, is there any other other? Is there any other taste there, other than the cardboard kind of mustiness?

– I couldn’t get anything. Beany, maybe, but, that was, that morning, I tasted it, I didn’t taste it very much just now, but there’s a lot of cream in there So, yeah, um, rating on this.

– Yeah, I dunno, maybe one.

– Yeah, one. I wasn’t gonna do half. Have we ever given anything half?

– I don’t think so.

– Well, probably that Aldi coffee, like the big, cheap can. I think that might’ve been a half. Half or no, but this is a one. It’s just not my favorite, you know.

– It’s not even anybody’s, if it is.

– Well, but it is, that’s the thing.

– If it is somebody’s favorite, and they haven’t.

– We used to, yeah.

– But they don’t drink other coffee.

– Yeah, drink other coffees

– We need to get on a mission to tell people not to mess up the Folger’s company, ’cause they could just make a better coffee.

– Well, and, we haven’t tried Folger’s, like, they have a gourmet blend. So I’d be interested. We’ll have to taste some of those and see. But yeah, I was actually really surprised when we were lookin’ at the cost of Folger’s, like big canister. It still wasn’t that good of a deal, as far as like, if you’re lookin’ for a really cheap deal on coffee, it’s not the cheapest.

– Yeah, get the other stuff.

– Yeah, Barissimo.

– Well, check out what we’ve.

– Yeah, if you’re gonna go cheap, Barissimo.

– You can check the coffee table on our website and sort it by price, and see if we would buy ’em or not, based on those. Well thanks for joining us for this review.
