Folgers Coffeehouse Blend Coffee Review

[spoiler title=’Click here to read the transcript. ‘ style=’default’ collapse_link=’true’]- Hey, welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee, your place for average joe coffee reviews. Today’s coffee is a Coffeehouse Blend. Not at my coffeehouse.

– So today we are reviewing Folgers’ Coffeehouse Blend, It’s supposed to be medium-dark and it’s a 100% pure coffee. That’s all they say.

– That’s right.

– There’s no real, like, you should taste this or that, just kind of, it says it’s good in a cold brew or French press.

– Right. Apparently not in automatic-drip.

– Yeah.

– And I noticed on their can, Folgers does not have an apostrophe.

– Oh.

– I thought that it did. I’d never put it anywhere, but…

– Yeah, well…

– Can, Canister. Can?

– Canister?

– They’re the same.

– Yeah.

– Can. Canister. I do like the handy-dandy little…

– Notebook?

– Canister. No.

– Blue’s Clues.

– No, yeah, no. Canister. You know, like the little…

– Yeah.

– This thing. It’s convenient.

– Except for… Except for when you are stirring your things in a, like a box.

– Yeah, Like our fancy little box

– Like we do. You can’t squeeze the air out of it and put another

– That’s true. bag of stuff in there. Anyway,

– Yeah.

– Let’s get to this Coffeehouse Blend.

– What about the price? Did we already–

– Oh, it was, it’s a 10 point eight

– Yeah, 10.8.

– ounce canister, 10.8, and it was $3.73 at regular price at Public’s. So that’s five bucks a pound, which is cheap. Super cheap.

– Yeah, super cheap.

– [In Unison] So…

– Let’s see what we think about this.

– The smell, when you roast it, it’s not good.

– No.

– Not roasted. When you…

– Brew it.

– Brew it. Yeah.

– I wanted to threw it out the window.

– So… We were tasting this, well, we tasted it several times now, but, um… not a favorable impression–

– No.

– At first.

– The first time we had it we were like okay, I can’t I can’t,

– Yeah, we…

– eat it, yeah…

– Yeah, were just like yeah, can’t do it. But then, just before this, we tasted it again, because we really wanted to figure out, like, why did we not like it?

– Right.

– And so, it does get better…

– Yeah.

– As you drink it more…

– Like your palate adjusts to it.

– I noticed a nutty-ness that you kinda started to taste.

– Yeah.

– Uh, okay, nutty-ness,

– Yeah.

– that’s good…

– Yeah. But, the first flavors, I kind of tasted were like papery, musty, like, on the flavor wheel. It’s that whole range of things, even maybe, there’s one that says, “meaty-brothy” and “malic.” And I kind of…

– Like it tastes like an animal.

– Like, yeah… Like there was this kind of savory, I don’t know, I couldn’t put my finger on it, but I kind of feel that’s where it was.

– But it wasn’t savory.

– To me it was.

– We didn’t want to savor it.

– Oh, oh! In that sense,

– Is what I’m saying. Yeah.

– Right, yeah. I did not want to savor it, but, you know, I will say as the cup goes along, like if you can get past the first few sips, it’s like,

– Yeah.

– Uh, alright.

– It’s certainly a heck of a lot better than Folgers’ original, and they’re the same price. So if you’re stuck on Folgers, like your grand-dad owned it, and you have to drink it, then you could drink this one.

– Yeah,

– Maybe.

– You like this one

– No. No.

– Better? Wait…

– Than the original.

– Wait…

– Better than the original.

– The original Folgers?

– Yeah.

– Yeah.

– That one we wanted to throw out the window. The Maxwell House was the only thing that we

– Oh, right, Yeah. were able to kind of drink.

– Yeah, okay. You’re right.

– But I think probably one and a half donuts, out of five, on this one?

– Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah.

– Yeah, I agree to that.

– Well, uh… If you’ve had this Folgers or another blend or roast that they create, then let us know about it and maybe we’ll suffer through another mug for you. But thanks for joining us on this review, and until next time,

– Keep grindin’.

    1. We really enjoy the price of Folgers, and their Black Silk in particular was really enjoyable. Also, Folger’s 1850 line was very tasty. Years ago, Folgers was our absolute favorite coffee.
