Folgers House Blend Coffee Review

– Today, we are reviewing Folger’s House Blend, which is supposed to be flavorful and aromatic, and it’s a medium roast. So this canister was

– Is ginger.

– What?

– The canister is ginger.

– Ginger?

– It’s red.

– Oh.

– Ginger spice.

– Well, but like ginger the color is more of like a yellow.

– Oh. But I thought ginger was red hair

– Yeah, I don’t know why they say ginger for redheads.

– Oh, well. Onward to the review.

– Cause they’re spicy. Okay, so it’s a ten point three ounce canister.

– Mm-hmm.

– It’s a little bit deceptive cause the normal bags are like, you know, 12 ounces.

– I wonder if Folger’s saves money on the can.

– Yeah, it’s kind of a weird thing, right?

– Like, why not put it in a bag?

– Right. So let’s talk about price. This was how much?

– Three dollars and 73 cents for the ten point three ounce canister.

– Doing the math that would be

– I wrote it down so we wouldn’t have to.

– Oh, okay.

– It’s over there.

– Yeah, I’ll get the coffee.

– And we’ll look at that while we got it. I got my white mug.

– $5.79 a pound.

– $5.79 a pound. So, we’ll call it cheap.

– Right.

– I think we’ve talked about under five bucks a pound is super cheap and maybe even

– Yeah. I was looking at the different prices. I think anything like under six dollars a pound is pretty cheap then as you go up then like Gevalia and stuff that’s like seven, eight dollars a pound and then on up to like Pete’s and that kind of thing and then your micro roasters locally are going to be like sixteen a pound so.

– And some even much higher than that.

– Right so, Folger’s we used to love. Used to be your go to.

– The smell isn’t good.

– Ugh um.

– Smells like cheap coffee.

– Actually, yeah the smell of like in the canister was pretty good and then

– Right, the dry grounds before you actually do anything with it.

– Right, well then the cup in itself like when I smelled it I thought ooh kind of the bitter kind of smell and then that’s what I taste in the coffee too like a bitter, burnt, kind of

– Yeah.

– But like there are some coffees that have like a little burnt taste or a little smokiness and it’s actually kind of nice.

– Right, it’s a different kind of smokey.

– Yeah In a nut, I don’t really enjoy it.

– Yeah.

– It’s not completely offensive. I would say it’s like okay, you know like.

– Um hum, I think most people would be like I think there’s something with the coffee. Oh it’s fine.

– Yeah, it’d be kinda like if you go to a waffle house and you get this cup of coffee and it’s like okay that’s what I was expecting.

– I wonder if there’s a Folger’s waffle house blend.

– I doubt it.

– It’s made with waffles and cigarette ashes. You may not even be able to smoke in a waffle house anymore.

– I don’t think you can anymore. I think it’s illegal everywhere.

– But overall, I would say we wouldn’t buy it again.

– Uh um, I would give it two.

– Probably.

– Two and a half, I mean I would say two.

– Two, I think two at the highest.

– Yeah.

– Two donuts out of five. But it’s Folger’s, hit or miss.

– Yep.
