Great Value Espresso Roast Coffee Review
- Hey, welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee you’re place for average Joe coffee reviews. Today’s coffee doesn’t have enough cashiers working.

– So today we are reviewing Great Value’s Espresso Ground Coffee. So it’s 100% Arabica coffee. And when he brought this into our house, I thought, “Why on Earth? Why on Earth?” We have not done all the coffees yet, so why would you start buying Great Value. But they were there

– It was cheap

– It was cheap He had the craving, I guess

– Yeah.

– And so he bought it, and then on the day that he made some for the first time, he did not tell me what he had roasted. He just gave me a cup of coffee.

– Well, I didn’t roast it.

– I mean, yeah

– I brewed it.

– Right.

– Says it in the Bible.

– Hebrews.

– Hebrews.

– So he gave me the cup of coffee, and I tasted it, and I said, “What, which one is this?” And he refused.

– “Which one is it?” I said.

– And I was like, “This is really good. Tell me which one it is,” and he was like,

– Enough. You just gave away the review.

– Oh, oh, sorry, yeah

– But anyway we’ll talk about price

– Spoiler alert.

– and then we’ll tell you about flavors and such.

– But suffice it to say, this was truly a blind taste test for me. That’s not always the case. Sometimes he doesn’t keep it from me what the thing is, but in this case, it truly was, because I think he knew I was going to be biased, or he was afraid I would be.

– That’s true.

– But, If we have any secrets, It’s about what coffee I brew for her.

-Right, yeah. But that is something. I mean, usually when a coffee is really cheap, it’s just, it’s not that good. I mean, the price on this one was

– $3.88 for the 12oz. bags, so it’s $5.20 something for a pound.

– Yeah it’s

– Almost our super cheap barrier of $5.00 or less per pound.

– Yeah, so, all of the coffee would be kinda the same price point. Dollar Tree coffee is still cheaper.

– Regular Folgers is cheaper.

– Regular Folgers is cheaper, but this is slightly cheaper than the Black Silk Folgers, which is actually one we like.

– The only Folgers that we liked, I think, so far.

– Oh, yeah. Right. But let’s taste this.

– Do you hear that loud bird noise, it’s actually a peacock or two or three, depending on how many of them chime in.

– Yeah. Once they get going it’s crazy.

– So, right?

– This is really good coffee, I think. I mean, some people out there might totally disagree with me, but I’m saying, if you go there, and you just like have your husband just like make you some without you knowin’ which coffee it is,

– Or your wife

– Right. Or your wife.

– Or your boyfriend or girlfriend.

– Right

– Or whatever

– And just taste it blind

– Or your maid, I don’t know.

– Ooh, we could get a maid.

– If you’ve got a maid, you’re probably not watching this show.

– Yeah, that’s very true.

– But so, of course, what grabbed my attention was the packaging

– Ooh, yeah.

– And the price, the price did too. But the packaging, looks nice.

– It does.

– And it’s a different type of bag. You see this has a

– Plastic zip

– Not ziplock. That’s a trademark

– Trademark.

– Great Value lock. And then you just seal it up, And, of course, it has the vacuum pack thing right here, A little side note about my thoughts on Walmart and their Great Value stuff, I think they’re using real company’s items, and just branding it Great Value, and telling the companies, “We’re gonna do this, and if you don’t want us to, we won’t sell your product” So, who knows, this may be Gevalia or something.

– Gevalia

– But they’ve done a great job with that.

– Yeah, the only other one that we’ve had like this, as for as the zip top thing is Sam’s Choice, again, might be the same company, and that Sam’s Choice was just so horrible, but…

– But so in this coffee, we taste like a nuttiness

– Yeah, roasty, dark, you know it’s like a dark roasty thing.

– Cocoa-y

– Cocoa-y, yeah

– Cocoa-y

– It says it should be creamy and chocolate. It had a little bit of chocolate. Do you get chocolate?

– Maybe so much more, well not so much more, but maybe cocoa-y over chocolate-y

– Right, yeah. Yes, but

– It’s that type of thing

– But it’s very good, like I am thrilled and amazed basically

– Yeah.

– That something so cheap could be so good.

– Yeah, I think that it’s a four doughnut, yeah.

– Yeah, easily a four doughnut.

– Maybe it could go more, I don’t know.

– Well, the thing is, price only takes you so far in my heart. It’s like, it can be super cheap and it can be good, but to be like than a four, it needs to be like knock me off of my feet.

– Like that’s the coffee you wannna buy all the time.

– Right. And this is a coffee I would buy, you know, definitely buy it again and be very pleased with it.

– So I think we’re saying four doughnuts out of five on this one. The Great Value Espresso.

– A strong four.

– Espresso Ground Coffee. Yeah, strong four, I’ll put muscles on the doughnut. I won’t do that. Anyway, it says it’s ground, and specially roasted, full-bodied Italian-inspired coffee for coffee and espresso machines. So it says use it in your espresso machines also.

– So it’s not just

– And it is like a

– an espresso roast, it’s very fine ground

– Yeah, fine ground.

– It’s like more powdery than coffee grounds, ground, grounds, ground, grounds. So if you’ve had any of the Great Value coffees, especially this espresso roast, let us know in the comments below what you thought about ’em, and which were the other ones that you tried and did you like those more than the others and I’m sure that we will be reviewing more of them. We do have a French Roast in our cupboard that we have not had yet, so we’ll see how that goes. But let us know, we’d be glad to talk about it. And again, thanks for joining us, until next time.

– Keep grinding.
