- Hey welcome to Coffee, Coffee, Coffee your place for average Joe coffee reviews. Today’s coffee is supposed to keep you regular?

– What?

– So today we are reviewing Aldi’s specially selected, fair trade, German roasted regular ground coffee.

– Oh, just like, it’s like normal.

– Right, it’s just regul– it doesn’t keep you regular.

– Or does it?

– Anyway, 100% Arabica coffee, imported from Germany

– Mmhmm

– So an actual imported coffee, it’s supposed to be robust and creamy and also,

– Like Germany.

-it also says that it’s a full-bodied blend with a smooth complex acidity and a well balanced finish, woo, that’s a mouthful.

– Yeah there’s a lot of stuff on there.

– Yeah.

– One thing I also noticed on there, the brewing instructions, the first step is to start with a clean coffee maker.

– Such an important step.

– Yeah, like start with your old, dirty coffee maker that you got

– Isn’t that what we all do though?

– Yeah.

– ‘Cause really who likes clean…uck!

– They’re so difficult.

– Medium roast, that’s the last thing, that’s a lot, on the bag. Which is really annoying. We said that on the last review of the German thing, but it’s like,

– It’s a brick.

– Yeah, it’s a brick and then so it’s a bag within a bag, it’s just messy.

– Folds in over itself,

– Yeah.

– And then the grounds spill out,

– Yeah.

– So, that’s kind of annoying, you can’t seal it back up there’s nothing on there,

– Mmhmm.

– So you’re probably better off putting it in another container

– Right

– which we put it in a Ziploc bag,

– But like, we didn’t like pour the coffee out in there.

– Yeah, ’cause we’re not savages.

– No, yeah, like, yeah, wasters of plastic.

– But, yeah, but.

– But it was super cheap,

– Mmhmm.

– it’s bigger than a pound and it’s $4.99 for the bag so, it was like $4.53 a pound,

– Right, yeah.

– If that makes sense to you.

– Right.

– But, let’s take a sippers.

– Yeah, sorry.

– Or did you, you already took a sip?

– I did, I took a sip.

– How dare you?

– Well, we’ve drunk this all week right? So, this one I like, like it is to me smooth and creamy first of all,

– Mmhmm.

– Robust, I get that, it’s like it’s got a

– Yeah, it’s got certainly more flavor than the other

– Mmhmm.

– German roasted one we tried.

– Mmhmm, yeah, no off flavors or anything,

– Mmhmm.

– I’m over all pleased.

– Yeah, yeah, it’s not a super fantastic,

– Sorry my glasses were fogging up,

– It’s not a super fantastic cup.

– Right, I mean, yeah.

– But it’s,

– ‘Cause I mean ultimately,

– Mmhmm.

– It’s, you know, lower priced, which I mean that doesn’t necessarily make it bad, but generally speaking I don’t think we’ve yet found a super cheap coffee that had tons of flavor.

– Right, yeah like,

– Like

– Complexity, is that what we’re talking about?

– Yeah, yeah, like, you know like a richness there? It seems like as you go down in price, it’s just not there as much but.

– Right, which they say on the package, it’s regular coffee.

– Right, yeah.

– For regular folk.

– Right, yeah, so, yeah, over all I’d definitely but this.

– Like a Volkswagen Beetle, a regular car for the people, yeah.

– Yeah Hitler, didn’t he do that?

– Yeah it was his design, or his idea,

– Yeah.

– to get that out there.

– But yet they still make,

– And then they stole all the money

– Volkswagens.

– There’s a whole thing by James May that you can watch on Amazon Prime about the Volkswagen Beetle.

– James May from,

– Top Gear.

– Top gear, such a good show.

– It’s a pretty good show.

– But yeah over all I would say yeah, if we were gonna buy this one again?

– Yeah, oh yeah,

– Yeah, I think so.

– I’d give it like what? Three and a half?

– Yeah three and a half I think.

– Okay not four.

– Just because it doesn’t have like that, the different tastes of things that kinda,

– Yeah, that’s true.

– Make it interesting.

– Mmhmm, yeah.

– It’s just kind of an easy to drink coffee.

– Yeah, yeah, and plus the super cheapness.

– Yeah, super cheap.

– Super cheap, yeah, mmhmm mmhmm.

– Well as we said on the other German selected roasted coffee if you know of any other ones that they have other than the mild and the regular,

– Mmhmm. we’ll see if we can find it and review those too.

– Yeah, yeah, definitely.

– Yeah, well, thanks for joining us and until next time,

– Keep grinding!
