Barissimo Medium Roast Coffee Review

[spoiler title=’Click here to read the transcript. ‘ style=’default’ collapse_link=’true’]- Hey welcome to Coffee, Coffee, Coffee, your place for average Joe coffee reviews. Today’s coffee is Fair Trade certified. Are we certifiable for drinking it?

– So today we are reviewing Barissimo, is that how you say it? Barissimo.

– Barissimo.

– There you go.

– And you have to, Barissimo. You have to yell it at somebody.

– Is that an Italian word? He’s like 51% fluent.

– According to Duolingo.

– So Fair Trade Certified Medium Roast, from Aldi.

– Right.

– This is one we’ve heard a lot about or at least this line of coffee is one a lot of people have said, hey Barissimo Coffee from Aldi. So, we’re trying out several.

– Yeah, people that recommend it or that mention it, never really say a roast they just say Barissimo. They have that face. But no, they just say try the Barissimo coffee at Aldi and I thought that it was just one kind of coffee. Until I went there and I found like 12 different roasts.

– Yeah, there’s a lot and they’re cheap. They’re only like, what was this one? Like, $4.

– I have the receipt right here. That is probably one of the Fair Trade ones, 3.99 a bag.

– 3.99 for a 12 ounce bag. So it’s cheap coffee. So, the question is, is it any good?

– Yeah, that’s always the question.

– Yeah.

– But even more so when it’s cheap.

– Yes.

– We really want to know. And when it’s expensive.

– Right, yes.

– I’ve got my coffee over there and Kayla will hand it to me. Why thank you.

– You’re welcome.

– Plain white mug. Hey that’s a–

– And my beautiful mug.

– That’s right. That’s a good band name.

– Actually it’s the, Habersham County Chamber of Commerce.

– But to them that’s–

– Oh yeah, they don’t know. Yeah. Habersham County, represent.

– Yeah. All 19,000 people.

– So, this one really smells good to me which is, like when I smell I’m like, oh this is gonna be a really good cup of coffee.

– It’s like, it’s like one of those commercials.

– But–

– Is that like on Elf? Does he do that with hot chocolate?

– Oh, yeah he does that.

– I don’t remember.

– Yeah, but the smell is pretty much where the pleasure of it ends for me.

– Yeah. There’s a big bean taste for sure.

– Bean, yeah.

– Beans, beans, they’re good for your heart. I’ll end there.

-Yeah, thanks. Kind of, there’s this earthy taste. My mouth feels dry when I’m drinking this coffee. Which I don’t like.

– Yeah, even when you’re drinking it.

– Yeah.

– Like, you’ve got the liquid in your mouth and it’s like, I’m having, it’s like that cinnamon test.

– What?

– You try to eat a spoonful of cinnamon.

– I’ve never tried that before.

– Me neither, I’m not that risky. Daring.

– No, you’re not.

– But it is, it’s dry like all the time, even when you’re drinking it.

– Yeah, yeah. I just, yeah, I don’t enjoy it overall. I mean, for such a cheap bag, that’s why I think I would give it two out of five.

– Yeah, I agree.

– Yeah like, if it were a more expensive coffee it would be less than two but since it’s so cheap I’ll give it some leeway.

– There’s a little bit of a, like an overdone, caramel flavor to it.

– Yeah, yeah like a little bit burnt. But yeah, that the dry mouth–

– Like, you better watch that caramel don’t let it sit too, ah, just scrape it up and put it in that coffee. That’s what I think happened.

– Okay, right.

– Yeah.

– Yeah.

– Overall I think two donuts out of five. Bing.

– Yeah.

– That’s when they showed up on the screen.

– Oh okay. Would you buy it again, no.

– No, I don’t think even for $4 there was another one, for the same price that’s like, hey just get that one.

– Right, was it the Guatemalan one?

– Yeah, the Guatemalan Barissimo we liked.

– Yeah.

– But yeah, so.

– Yeah, so this one is a pass.

– Pass. Pass, like that old man TV thing, pass. Right?

– Yeah.

– That’s right. So, anyway thanks for joining us again for another coffee review here on Coffee, Coffee, Coffee. We look forward to hearing your comments about other things as well as this thing.

– Yeah, be sure to let us know in the comments below if you’ve tried it and what you thought of the coffee, ’cause we always want to know.

– That’s right and until next time.

– Keep grinding.

Hello! I actually just signed up to try this new coffee. I thought you might be interested. It sounds pretty good. I’m trying the Intenso Regular. We’ll see how it goes.

    1. Hey Emily, thanks for watching! Please do let us know how it tastes. At around $30/lb, we hope it’s amazing! Let us know how it is and if we should buy a bag!

      1. I tried it this morning…it’s pretty good. I wouldn’t pay that much for any coffee but they gave me a free sample w/just $1 shipping to try it. (Plus, I went through Swagbucks & earned $5 for trying it. ?) They sent an 8 oz bag. It’s worth a try but i won’t be paying for a subscription. ? Haha!

        1. Hey that’s pretty cool that you got paid to try it! It’s good to know that it’s probably not worth the money. Thanks for the update!
