Daily Basics Aldi Coffee Review
hey welcome to coffee coffee coffee your place for average Joe coffee reviews today we are reviewing a specialty coffee that’s from a little place not many people know about called Aldi right I think it’s Swedish yes Aldi but anyway let’s take a look at the special Aldi coffee what does it say ground coffee yep it’s a 100% pure coffee no artificial flavors like many French Vanilla Hazelnut that’s an upgrade yep medium roast mm-hmm yeah that’s pretty much all you’re gonna find out about the daily basis basics well that’s right though that’s a brand but that’s also right it’s coffee is a daily basic right that is true and for $2.60 a pound yes that’s pretty good we didn’t buy this we should say yeah someone gave it to us a viewer a viewer Carolyn Cox his mom yeah she gave it to us to try yeah to try we have to give it back to see if it’s good or not I’m gonna set this down on the ground so the desk doesn’t break yeah okay so it’s Aldi coffee right right we’ve never tasted it before this is gonna be a different thing because it’s we just got the coffee and we wanted to let’s see the review of oh wait we have pretty lot of expectations although we were surprised with Dollar Tree coffee no but that could be the same situation this could be leftover coffee from a different like supplier yeah and they just kind of throw it in I was talking to my dad about it he was in the citrus industry for a long time and he said what happens sometimes is they’d have like good quality orange juice would be run and then it’d have like 2000 gallons left over right which wasn’t enough to put into their thing so then this off-brand orange juice would get bottled with the good stuff huh you would think well I’m buying daily squeeze or whatever the off-brand orange juice would be called great name for orange juice right okay and you’d be like yeah this is really good and that’s because it was like Florida’s premium fresh-squeezed orange juice right so that could be what happens with Dollar Tree and Aldi coffee right right they get like the leftovers yes sometimes it’s good sometimes it’s bad maybe we’ll see I say we go for the the gusto the deep end oh I think it does not yeah it smells like cheap coffee it smelled badly when it was brewing and I just caught a whiff of it and I’m not looking forward to this this is bringing back memories of now you know there’s something for me I do know two people who live in North Georgia that would like it my parents yeah it does it does taste like I can’t I can’t do another sip it is a very card cardboard cardboard bean yeah it’s dry too like yeah like when I took the drink that’s just kind of like the drink was gone and so was all the moisture in my mouth mm-hmm I don’t know what happened there but maybe that’s right before you vomit yeah yeah so as appreciative as we are for the coffee to try yeah thanks it’s not a winner it reminds me a lot of the publix coffee that we tried and that was cublix cublix publix premium so I mean if you’re gonna buy this kind of coffee yeah you’re better off to spend $4.98 on it oh yeah what was the public’s like twelve or thirteen dollars a pound $12 a pound mmm was it I can’t remember think maybe I think regularly it’s like eight something a bag yeah so this is at least cheaper but I will not be drinking it and fortunately we just got some other coffee in the mail and so if we’re gonna go drink it and then you’ll see the review about it on Saturday mm-hmm I can’t remember which one it is we ordered three Walmart’s sent the wrong kind of one and ones not here yet so yeah new reviews every Wednesday and Saturday that’s right in case you hadn’t noticed and you can find those reviews on Facebook and YouTube and links to them on Instagram and also on our website at coffeecoffeecoffeeshow.com where there’s a coffee table also that you can look at all the reviews we’ve done and have them outlined like next to each other with the price per pound and where we got it what kind of coffee was all that good stuff right good keep grinding
1. I just made my first cup of this and it’s the first cup I’ve enjoyed in a while. I’m finding the taste to be enjoyable & full of flavor. I definitely wasn’t expecting this because the aroma when I opened the can put me off. Will definitely buy again.

    1. Hey, Jewel, thanks for commenting. We’re glad you enjoyed it, even though it wasn’t to our liking! Perhaps you can find other coffees you enjoy by drinking the ones we don’t like. 🙂

The worst coffee I ever had very very disappointed and not happy. Coffee for me is important. Thumbs down all the way.

    1. Absolutely agree. We still remember the taste. ):

  3. Did buy the daily basics coffee for the office. I’m a pariah. In fact, found this site to redeem myself. It’s going to be difficult.

They want Keurig. I don’t want to spend $20 a day on coffee. “We” settled on the worst coffee ever made.

    1. Hahahaha. Sorry you had to find out the hard way about this coffee! One option for the Keurig would be to use a reusable filter like this on Amazon: Keurig Reusable Coffee Filter. That way, people can brew individual cups (no more burnt coffee!) and you can buy a slightly better bagged coffee, which is cheaper than the K-Cups. We’ve actually found that the coffee from Dollar Tree ($2.60 per pound!) is surprisingly good. Also, from Aldi’s, we liked the Barrissimo Guatemala blend ($5.32 a pound). Also, Joe Coffee’s Tall Dark and Handsome was really good, and it was about $6.65 per pound. Thanks for watching! We hope this site helps you!

  4. I am not picky I enjoy ALDI s Beaumont ? coffee n tried the daily basics to save 50 cents. Daily Basics is just Terrible the worst coffee ever. Tastes like mildew and 0 flavor worst ever hands down.

    1. Oh absolutely the worst!!! We haven’t had the Beaumont yet, but have reviewed several of the Barissimo Coffees and are going to be reviewing some of the Specially Selected German Roasted coffee they have. Here are the reviews of the Barissimo line that we have done so far. https://coffeecoffeecoffeeshow.com/barissimo-breakfast-blend-coffee-review/ That link will get you to the other ones too…

      Thanks for watching and commenting!

  5. I bought a can of Daily Basics coffee at Aldi’s and opened the can and it is half empty. Will not be buying it again.

    1. Oh man! But hey, we really disliked that coffee, so maybe it was a blessing in disguise!

This is the second time I have bought the can. As long as it keeps me awake while I am working then the coffee is doing its job.

I have never had any problems when buying Aldis’ coffee, between Daily Basics and Beaumont, the ladder is better is forms of consistency of texture and flavor. However, since I am a tightwad when it comes to food (I make my own bread from scratch to save $$$ even if I do not have the time from the cheapest whole grain flour I can find) and the grocery budget in general, the last run forced me down $2 between Beaumont and this due to a bloc of Sharp Cheddar cheese.

Needless to say, I am no snob when it comes to coffee. It is not the best tasting thing, nor is it the worst. (Some coffee I have had smells like sewage water.)

    1. We totally hear you on trying to keep the grocery budget in check! That’s one of the reasons we started the youtube channel and this website: to try to find the best coffee for the best price. Thank you for sharing your experiences with this coffee! We’re glad you enjoy it.

Something happened and when I opened up the can it smelled really rancid. I pitched it into the compost pile. I was able to clean out the can and replace it with coffee grounds a friend gave me when she did a run out to a discount grocery store. So, yeah, this can was pretty much wasted.

        1. Were the replacement grounds good? What brand were they?

Blonde Roast from Starbucks. Tasted good even several months past the sell out date.

Hi Kayla and j.r. what do you do with the coffee that you don’t drink? Just wondering?

      1. When we have several almost full bags, we give them away, most of the time to J.R.’s mom, who then distributes them around to friends, church, etc. Now that we’re full time RVing, we don’t know what we’ll do, now that we’re further away from family. Perhaps try to give it away to other people at the campground? We don’t think a soup kitchen or food pantry would accept it, since it will be opened.
