Barissimo Fair Trade Dark Roast Coffee Review


[spoiler title=’Click here to read the transcript. ‘ style=’default’ collapse_link=’true’]- Hey, welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee, your place for average Joe coffee reviews. Today’s coffee bag is black. It’s mostly black. Some of it’s purple.

– So today, we’re reviewing–

– Black, purple.

– The Barissimo, Barissimo, Barissimo.

– It’s the Barissimo.

– Oh, I can’t do that.

– Barissimo.

– I can’t do that. So, Fair Trade dark roast coffee from Aldi. That’s who distributes it.

– Right. One ingredient.

– Arabica coffee.

– Fair Trade Arabica coffee.

– Right. So, yes, oh yeah, that actually said Fair Trade coffee. Interesting. It usually just says 100% Arabica coffee. So yeah, dark roast, Aldi, Fair Trade What more is there to say?

– Yeah, well, price.

– Oh yes, the price.

– This one was the, I can’t. Which one?

– Fair Trade.

– $3.99.

– $3.99, yeah. So, super cheap.

– Yeah, $4 for a 12 oz bag, that’s a good price.

– Not the cheapest we’ve ever reviewed, but pretty darn cheap.

– Yeah, that would have been Dollar Tree’s–

– Your mug.

– French Vanilla was the cheapest so far.

– Yes, yes.

– All right, so let’s try this. We’ll give it a wiffy.

– I can’t really.

– Yeah, it’s coffee like.

– Yeah, coffee like. It’s not like the, oh, it smells delicious.

– Yeah, but it doesn’t smell bad either.

– Okay, so.

– I need a nap.

– So, the recurring theme of all the Aldi, not all of them, but I think Guatemalan I liked, but the thing that keeps putting me off is this dry mouth feel that I get with all the coffees besides Guatemalan.

– Guatemalan. Yeah.

– It’s, to me, bitter.

– Yeah, the dryness.

– And then there’s this bitterness.

– Not so much bitter, but there is some there.

– Yeah, it’s like–

– Fresh good.

– If the dry mouth feel wasn’t there.

– I just got some.

– Did you? What?

– I don’t know. Maybe there’s like chunks, and that was a bitter chunk in there. Don’t spit the chunk back up.

-I’m trying not to. Yeah, so to me there’s a bitterness, which you drink sugar in yours. So maybe that’s why you don’t get the bitterness.

– A little bit.

– But mainly the dry mouth. That’s the big thing that’s like, turning me off. So I would give it, like a two.

– Maybe two, two.

– Yeah, yeah.

– It’s like the dry mouth is like that scene in Me, Myself and Irene.

– I don’t remember that movie.

– When Jim Carrey took the medication, and it turned his mouth all like, and I can’t do Jim Carrey’s face, but it’s great.

– Yep.

– But yeah, so.

– So I don’t think we’d buy it again, even though it was super cheap.

– Yeah.

– It’s just not enjoyable enough to say, oh well, it’s cheap. So yeah, no thanks.

– It’s one of those nuclear holocaust coffees.

– Yeah, right, yeah. Anything below like a three is like, we wouldn’t really buy it again.

– Yeah.

– So.
